bburke-win.jpgBrooke Burke became the third female ever to win “Dancing With the Stars” last night. She and partner Derek Hough got a perfect 30 for their final dance.

Joey Fatone doesn’t leave anything to the imagination when it comes to how he feels toward the season seven contestants of “Dancing With The Stars.” When asked who shouldn’t have been kicked off, Fatone said that Toni Braxton didn’t deserve to be voted off so early…. He also took a shot at socialite, Kim Kardashian, saying “ugh, she has no personality at all. It was painful to watch.” He also complained that his former bandmate Lance Bass can’t point his toe for anything…(his comment was actually bleeped) … (more…)

brooke_dwts1.jpgBrooke Burke and Derek Hough scored a perfect 30 for their performance on last night’s “Dancing With The Stars”.  The winner is announced tonight!

Clint Eastwood has just finished starring in and directing “Gran Torino”, a drama about a racist veteran of the Korean War, and he is hanging up his acting hat for good. He tells Britain’s Sunday Express, “That will probably do it for me as far as acting is concerned. You don’t want to be like a fighter who stays too long in the ring until you’re not performing at your best.” … (more…)

chris-brown.jpgChris Brown was the big winner last night at the American Music Awards, winning three prizes including artist of the year. Alicia Keys scored twice. Kanye West was the big winner in the rap/hip-hop category, taking home his first-ever AMAs for favorite album and rap/hip-hop male artist. Coldplay, nominated in 5 categories, went home empty-handed.

Chris Brown says there are a couple of people he’d like to work with down the line — one of them being Madonna — who he’d like to do a duet with for his next album. He says he’d also like to work with Coldplay. … (more…)

Tizzy’s Movie Review: “Twilight”

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

twilight.jpgIf I had to sum up this movie in three words, they would be: cheesy but entertaining.  The book turned movie dominated theaters this weekend.  Author Stephanie Meyer wrote a captivating tale of a vampire and human falling in love, but it failed to come across the silver screen seriously.

A girl named Bella moves in with her father in the small town of Forks, WA.  What better place for vampires to live than a rainy, gray town?  She falls for one of the vampires at her school, Edward, and not only are there the awkward, hormonal moments of teen dating, but add the concept of a blood sucking vampire to the mix, and you’ve got yourself a unique love story packed with some pretty cool acrobatics.

I found myself laughing more in this movie than I had expected.  I’m not quite sure if the director wanted to incorporate a lot of humor or if I just couldn’t hold back from the cheesy lines.  From the way the popular kids talked to the lack of speech from the pale vampires in high school, they seemed to live up to their stereotypes.

Who to take to this movie: young adults who dig vampires

Don’t see this movie if: you’ve never liked a movie that was a book first

Tizzy’s Concert Review: Coldplay

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

coldplay175.jpgBritish alternative rock band Coldplay put on a stellar performance at the Pepsi Center!  From the high energy on stage to the phenomenal video effects during the show, the group definitely knew how to put on a show for their fans.

The four guys took the stage as the intro music from their new album “Viva La Vida” was playing.  It was just like putting the CD in your car and listening to the album from the start.  They even had a giant bell on stage for the “Viva La Vida” single, and even though the mallet broke when the drummer was playing the bell, he kept going! … (more…)
