Tizzy’s Movie Review: “Frost/Nixon”

frostnixon2.jpgHistory hits the silver screen again this winter with Frost/Nixon.  Taking place in the 1970’s, this dramatic Ron Howard film retells the post-Watergate controversial television interviews between former president Richard Nixon and British talk-show host David Frost.  Nixon’s motive is to set the record straight, but Frost and his investigative team have a different goal in mind: to give Nixon the trial he never received for Watergate.

Frank Langella plays Nixon, and man does he do a great job.  From his mannerisms to his voice, he nails Nixon.  Nixon was a clever speaker, but it was amazing to see Langella play him so humanly at his most vulnerable moments.

I was not aware of these interviews before seeing the movie, and I was still fully captivated from start to finish.  To watch someone from another country drill one of our nation’s Presidents to uncomfortable perspiration and regret was breathtaking.  Great acting + captivating script = excellent movie in my book.
