Ashton Kutcher took to his blog early yesterday morning after he and Demi Moore were awakened at 7:30 by a construction crew with hammers pounding on steal at a neighbor’s house next door. Kutcher went off on the neighbor, blogging about how ridiculous it was to start construction work at that time of the day and calling the guy all sorts of names. Late yesterday afternoon, a much calmer Kutcher took to his blog to apologize to the neighbor. The law in L.A. says construction crews can start at 7:00 am. … (more…)

Drew Barrymore says she’s single because she can’t find a man who deserves her. “I believe there are no rules. I think, at a certain point something clicks, and you’re just not willing to accept or give less than what your heart desires or less than what you deserve,” she says. “My priorities have changed so much. I’ve been single for months now and I’ve turned my attention toward my passions, my friends and the causes I believe in. It’s been about learning who I am, not through a man, but for myself.” … (more…)

Although Matt Damon campaigned vigorously for Barack Obama for over a year, he didn’t go to the inauguration. “[My wife] Luciana and I decided we wanted to go,” he tells the Miami Herald. “But when I called my contacts from the campaign, they just started laughing.” He added: “But then they called me back the next day and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got two tickets for you, in the bleachers, and you’ll actually be able to see Obama take the oath. Just $25,000 apiece.’” … (more…)

On her friend Gayle King’s radio show, Oprah said she was surprised to find out she was on Governor Blagojevich’s list to fill Obama’s Senate seat. She said she thinks she would be a good Senator, but said she’s not interested in the job.

The First Lady is not happy at all about Beanie Baby maker is selling dolls with the same names as the Obama girls. Ty Inc. is marketing dolls with the names “Sweet Sasha” and “Marvelous Malia.” Michelle Obama released a statement saying, “We feel it is inappropriate to use young private citizens for marketing purposes.” Interestingly, the toy company is denying the dolls are named after the Obama daughters. With lots of positive buzz going around for The Wrestler, I knew I had to check it out ASAP. I’m so glad I did! Mickey Rourke stars in what could be the performance of his life. He’s already won a Golden Globe for his performance in this film, and he’s also nominated for an Academy Award. Marisa Tomei also has an Academy Award nod for her supporting role in this film. Now I’m happy to say I know why.
Rourke is a wrestler in today’s time who was huge in the 80s. But because of the intensity of the sport, his body starts to wear down, and he’s forced to discover who he really is. He spends most of his nights at the local strip club where Tomei works, and he turns to her for guidance on his journey.
Although this wasn’t the best movie I’ve seen, I was blown away by the acting. You get lost in Rourke’s story, and you find yourself rooting for him to succeed. I recommend seeing this if you’re in the mood for seeing something different.
Who to take to this movie: adults who like stories about one person
Don’t see this movie if: you can’t handle seeing rough fights and blood

Brendan Fraser stars in the family friendly adventure Inkheart. He plays a father who is a Silver Tongue, which means he can pull characters out of books and into real life just by reading stories out loud. Because of his abilities, he put his family in jeopardy, and now he needs to fix things.
This movie is cute. Filled with fun action and entertaining fantasy, it will be a hit with any kid in your family. The movie will also touch adults and remind them how much they used to escape in books as children.
I wasn’t expecting to see any Academy Award winning actors in Inkheart, but Helen Mirren made more than just a cameo. She is Fraser’s wife’s aunt, and she helps him with his quest. Her smart, sassy character really added a refreshing element to the cookie cutter action flick for kids.
Who to take to this movie: anyone you’re babysitting
Don’t see this movie if: you want to be intellectually stimulated in the theater

We loved Aretha Franklin’s hat so much from President Obama’s inauguration, we wanted to sport it ourselves! Ellen wore it on her show, so we wanted to join in on the fun. We look so pretty!
