What happened to Courtney Love? The singer looks so skinny, she looks like she should have medical attention. She used to be so curvy, but now she’s nothing but bones. She was seen visiting a midtown NYC bank Monday and shocked onlookers even if they didn’t know who she was. Love began dieting in 2006 to lose the weight she put on after kicking her drug addiction, losing 52 pounds on a regimen of protein shakes, fish and vegetables. Love joked onstage about an “eating disorder” during a 2007 performance but later insisted she was only kidding, but now it looks like there was some truth in the joke. …
At press time, Farrah Fawcett was reportedly close to death. Family members were reportedly gathering at her bedside.
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Danielle Staub had her lawyer file a complaint yesterday in an effort to stop a sex tape from being sold by her ex-boyfriend. A judge granted a temporary injunction against the tape. The boyfriend is Stephen Zalewski, who also appeared on the show. He had this to say: “I’m definitely weighing my options as far as selling [the tapes] and getting them out there … She cost me so much money, why shouldn’t I make a few dollars?”
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” bolted out of the gate with a $16 million haul from midnight showings. Experts believe the flick could pull in $150 million in its first five days.
“Tudors” actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was detained for several hours after allegedly punching a waiter in a drunken scuffle at a Paris airport.
Emma Watson (“Harry Potter”) is considering giving up acting if she can’t find other fulfilling roles. She tells Teen Vogue: “I don’t have a burning passion for acting. Until something comes along that I feel as strongly about as I did Hermione - like, I felt that it was life or death - I don’t want to act again.”
Page Six is reporting that singer and “Dancing With The Stars” dancer, Julianne Hough, can really dance and sing, but she can’t act. Paramount had wanted to cast her in “My Hallelujah Song,” its remake of “Footloose”. But her audition “was so bad, the producers reportedly sent her off to take acting classes”. She’s scheduled for another screen test Aug. 1st.
The Academy Awards are doubling the number of best-picture nominees that voters can consider from five to 10. The idea is to open the field up to more films that are able to compete for the top Oscar prize. The change takes effect with next year’ Oscars on March 7th. The move is a return to Oscar traditions of the 1930s and ’40s, when 10 nominees were common.
Model and former wife of Rod Stewart, Rachel Hunter, 37, and her 27-year-old boyfriend have called off their planned August wedding. Her camp released the following: “Can Associates Limited regret to inform you that the August wedding of Rachel Hunter and Jarret Stoll has been cancelled and the couple have decided to split.” Stoll is a pro hockey players and plays for the Los Angeles Kings.
Eddie Cibrian will join the cast of “C.S.I. Miami” as a regular when the show returns this fall.

FOX may give Simon Cowell TV’s biggest salary. Britain’s Financial Times reports: “Cowell has been offered an ‘American Idol’ contract that would make him the best-paid star of TV, with a deal likely to surpass even Oprah Winfrey’s estimated earnings, according to a person familiar with the talks.”

So, how did a 23-year-old named Stefani Germanotta come up with the whole Lady GaGa gimmick? “My realization of Gaga was five years ago, but Gaga’s always been who I am,” she tells the AP. She adds: “I am so often puzzled (by journalists). Sometimes they go, ‘So what’s this all about? … What do you look like when you go home? Do you dress like this all the time?’ It’s rude! It’s not nice.”

The Jonas Brothers take over the No. 1 slot on the album chart with “Lines, Vines and Trying Times”. The Black Eyed Peas‘ “The E.N.D.” falls to No. 2, while Dave Matthews Band’s “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King” slips to No. 3.
