I’m happy to say that this movie is much better than the first one in the series.  Twihards were impressed too and weren’t shy to cheer throughout the whole movie and boast about how much closer this one was to the book than the first.  I’ve never read the books, and I still enjoyed it.  So whether you’re a die hard “Twilight fan”or just fairly interested in seeing it, “New Moon” has enough action and a decent storyline for almost anyone to enjoy.

This movie starts out with Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) the vampire as boyfriend and girlfriend.  Later in the movie she discovers her best friend, Jacob (Taylor Lautner), is a werewolf and becomes torn between the two.  The conflict is not very mature, well they’re in high school, but it’s not as cheesy as the first one. 

I was mostly impressed with the action sequences.  The special effects for the werewolves were cool, and the fight scenes were a nice mixture of slow motion with real time.  Bella’s pouty characteristics become annoying at times, almost enough to yell “snap out of it” at the screen, but I’m just happy that there’s much more going on in this movie than just a bunch of staring like the first one.

Don’t see this movie if: seeing a high school romance is the last thing on your list
