Ford County, By John Grisham

I have a confession to make: I’ve never read a John Grisham novel. I know, I’m a bit out of the mainstream on that, but I can now say that I’ve read John Grisham, the short story writer.
“Ford County” is a collection of seven stories about the residents of Ford County, Missisippi and I loved it. My husband loved it, which is high praise because he only reads things that “move along, without “too many extra words.”
I’ve said before how much I love southern writers and southern settings, so I was probably already biased when I picked this up, but the stories are full of strong characters, funny twists and as my husband noted, they “move along nicely.” … (more…)
