Say goodbye to “Kate Plus 8″….TLC is calling it quits on the entire franchise that ran for 8 years, (originally Jon and Kate Plus 8). The show filmed 150 episodes and will continue to check in with the family from time to time with specials in the future.
Last week on “The Insider”, Kate Gosselin said she’d heard the rumors that this would be the last season of “Kate Plus 8″ but said as far as she’s concerned, TLC could keep filming them as long as they wanted to.
Just hours after TLC announced the cancellation of “Kate Plus 8″ Kate’s former husband, Jon Gosselin spoke with RadarOnline. He told the website that he’s “very relieved” to get his children away from the prying eyes of the camera, “and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future.” Jon adds, “I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now, and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue.” Kate, in the meantime, says she’s finally good with the divorce and isn’t upset by not knowing who Jon’s girlfriend of the week is.

Billy Crystal says he’s ready to host the Oscars again. Crystal, who hosted the show eight times between 1990 and 2004, admits that he got “itchy” after this year’s cameo on the Oscars and that he’d be ready to talk about a return to the stage of the ceremony. Crystal had gotten a bit burned out on hosting the awards show and pulled back but now, he seems to be ready again, saying, “It’s always fun. It’s really hard, but maybe one or two more times? I don’t know. They know where I am.” Crystal is now working on “Monsters University”, the prequel to the Pixar hit “Monsters Inc.”, and he is ramping up plans to make a film out of his one-man play “700 Sundays.”
CBS’ daytime chat show, “The Talk” looks to be losing Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete as co-hosts for its second season. The show has picked up the options of co-host/creator Sara Gilbert and co-hosts Sharon Osbourne and Julie Chen. No word if the two women will actually be replaced. The Talk starts it’s second season on September 6th.
Last night on “Bachelor Pad” the guys had to throw paint-filled eggs at the girl they were least attracted to . . .and Erica Rose from season nine of “The Bachelor” got hit with half of them. She said it was painful, but the emotional pain was worse.
Nick Cannon has joined the cast of the new Wednesday night comedy, “Up All Night”, in a recurring role. Cannon will play Calvin, a wildly popular co-host to talk show star Ava (Maya Rudolph), who can’t help but be jealous of the
attention her energetic sidekick receives. Cannon is currently the host of the show, “America’s Got Talent”.
