No New Ideas?

 newideas

Is it true that Hollywood has run out of ideas? When you see the upcoming schedule of movies for 2012, you might be stunned by the number of remakes, rereleases, sequels, and prequels.

And yet, do we blame Hollywood moguls…or ourselves?

News For Nerds: September 30, 2011

cyborg

Hollywood has glamorized the idea of cyborgs. In fact, when I hear the word my brain often pulls up an image of Ah-nold saying “I’ll be back.” But in reality, we’re just learning how to meld human parts with machine parts. And that’s where rats come in.

Rats? Yes, rats.

Also this week: Scientists are always trying to prove Albert Einstein wrong. It’s like some cool badge, or something, to be able to say “the German patent clerk screwed up!” Now there’s a new report that claims his ideas concerning the speed of light might be off by a few nanoseconds. In other words, there might be some particles out there that would beat light in a 100-meter dash.

Plus, I don’t want you to worry about this too much, but it’s possible that a solar storm could come along and ruin everything. I mean EVERYTHING.

You should read more about all of these stories - no, really, you should - and you can do that (and share them with all of your real friends and online friends) by taking this path right here. C’mon, it’s cool to get your nerd on!

Could it be that Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are breaking up?  The tabloids are alive with stories of Ashton cheating on his wife now they are working on two separate coasts.  The pair also spent their sixth wedding anniversary, September 24th, apart.  Kutcher partied in San Diego with his former “That ’70s Show” costar Danny Masterson.  They hit a number of clubs and now a 23 year old has come forward saying she had a fling over the weekend with the “Two and A Half Men” star. The big moment on last night’s “Dancing with the Stars” was a nip-slip from Nancy Grace.  And host Tom Bergeron had to fix it for her. Nancy Grace ended up getting 21 points for her quickstep.  But not before Len and Carrie Ann argued about whether it needed more “razmataz.”  Carrie Ann gave it a six, and Len gave it an eight. The creators of “South Park” . . . Trey Parker and Matt Stone . . . were interviewed on “60 Minutes” last night.  Parker explained where the idea for the show came from.  He says they loved “All in the Family,” and decided the only way you could have a character like Archie Bunker in the politically correct 90’s was to make him a little kid.
