The Jane Report 12-21-11

While it’s been in the news that Former NFL player Deion Sanders and his wife, Pilar are getting a divorce, what you may not know about is a little nugget in their pre-nup that says the bigger the house the couple lived in when married, the bigger the house Pilar gets should the split up.  Deion agreed in the prenup that should they split, he would buy Pilar a house that is equal to half the value of whatever their current home is.

Their current home is in Propser, Texas, and has a listing price of $21 million (it has 30,000 square feet and 10 bedrooms).  Pilar has been house hunting since Thanksgiving, Sanders was previously married to Carolyn Chambers, with whom he has two children (Deion Jr. and Deiondra).  Sanders has three children with Pilar (Shilo, Shedeur and Shelomi).

Brooke Mueller wants her first court appearance in her cocaine case to be a TMZ-free zone … because they want to make the case really boring so no one will cover it.  Brooke’s lawyer has filed legal papers trying to block TMZ from livestreaming her arraignment in Aspen.  As you know, Brooke was busted for cocaine possession earlier this month.  According to the legal docs, Brooke’s lawyer is arguing that video of the proceeding would “unduly detract from the solemnity, decorum and dignity of the court.”  Cutting to the chase, Brooke’s lawyer says without our camera “this case may become less interesting.” How’s this for less interesting — don’t walk around Aspen with 4 grams of cocaine … allegedly.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have already wreaked havoc in Dallas, by setting off a war among a number of high-end realtors who are vying for their business.  The displaced couple has been looking for a place to live, and rather than using just one realtor, they decided 6 would be 6 times better.  Here’s the problem … the realtors claim Khloe and Lamar made each of them feel as if they were the only ones, and they’re now fighting over who can lay claim to a commission.  And it gets even better, because cameras for their reality show have been following Khloe and Lamar around during their house hunt, with different realtors in tow.  So the realtors not only think they’ll score a commission, they’re also dreaming of fame.  Apparently Khloe and Lamar have recognized their lapse of etiquette, and they’ve settled on just one realtor.  What’s more, we’re told they just found a condo in the W Hotel.   It’s a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, 1800 square-foot pad.  It’s listed for lease at $7,500 a month.

Tareq Salahi is a violent control freak who employs psychotic scare tactics to terrorize Michaele Salahi … at least that what she says.  Michaele wants the judge in her divorce case to grant a legal separation STAT, so she can be free of the spell Tareq has cast over her … according to legal docs obtained by TMZ.  Michaele explains in her papers that she fled to Journey guitarist Neal Schon because she just plain feared for her physical safety.  According to Michaele, the Summer of 2011 was the season of rage for Tareq — culminating in physical violence against her.  The final straw came on September 11th … Michaele claims she returned from an errand a few hours late, and Tareq turned out all the lights and waited for her in the basement … telling her she needed a lesson in fear. Two days later, Michaele fled to Neal … fearing for her safety.  As for Tareq — he categorically denies the allegations … telling TMZ, Michaele is a “chronic liar” whose accusations are “absurd.” Tareq insists he loved her and did everything humanly possible to support her during their marriage.

Word is sneaking out that Steve Jones, the host of this season’s “X-Factor” will not be returning to the show next year…and it’s not his decision.   Steve says he loves living in LA…the weather, the women and working on “X Factor,” but he really didn’t know how to relate to the contestants and the public never really warmed up to him during the course of the season.  At this point, Jones says there hasn’t been any conversations with Fox and says he’s more worried about putting on a great finale tonight and tomorrow night. (Wednesday/Thursday) “If I’m back, great, if I’m not, I’ll do something else.  Simple as that” he says.  The finale kicks off tonight on Fox.

America’s oldest teenager, Dick Clark will be in the thick of things again on New Years Eve!  He’ll be counting down the last seconds of 2011 live on TV with Ryan Seacrest on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”…The year marks the 40th anniversary of Clark’s year end countdown.   Dick continues to do daily physical therapy and is still in “recovery mode” from the stroke he suffered in 2004.

Dick Clark Productions is bringing back the “Bloopers” shows next fall. The show will feature new bloopers, hidden camera gags and user-generated videos.  Bloopers originated as TV Bloopers, a series of 7 specials hosted by Dick Clark, which aired on NBC from 1981 to Feb. 1984.  It morphed into TV’s Bloopers & Practical Jokes, a regular series Clark co-hosted with Ed McMahon on NBC from 1984 to 1988.

“Will and Grace” star Debra Messing and her husband of 10 years Daniel Zelman are getting a divorce.  The couple privately separated earlier this year after a 10-year marriage.  The couple have a 7-year-old son named Roman.  US Weekly says that the couple have been living together to make things easier for their son.

If you watched the latest episode of TLC’s “Next Great Baker”, you saw a shocking post-production detail appear on the screen as the program ended.  The eliminated contestant, Wesley Durden, had killed himself. Following his ousting, TLC ran a note that served as Durden’s In Memoriam…reading… “TLC extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Sgt. Wesley Durden, who died October 24th. He will be warmly remembered by the cast and crew of Next Great Baker,” the network said in a statement.  Durden, a former paratrooper, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound long after production on the season had wrapped.  He is survived by a seven-year-old son and two-year-old daughter.

There’s a cool video online from earlier this year of a Polish group called GlassDuo playing “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from “The Nutcracker” on wine glasses.

That fun show, “I Get That A Lot” is coming back for another special on January 4th. This time, the show will feature Pamela Anderson, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Jerry Springer, Ty Pennington and Apolo Ono.

The New York Nets have re-signed Kris Humphries to a one-year deal worth between $7-8 million.  After coming to the Nets in a trade for Eduardo Najera during the 2009-10 season, Humphries emerged as one of six players in the league to average a double-double last season, finishing with 10.0 points and 10.4 rebounds, as well as shooting a career-high 52.7% from the field.  Humphries is currently trying to get his marriage to Kim Kardashian annulled for fraud, even as she files for divorce.

“American Idol”
runner-up David Archuleta is taking a break from his singing career to serve on a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Archuleta made the announcement during a Christmas concert Monday in downtown Salt Lake City.  The 20 year old said he’s not quitting music, but feels a strong call to serve the church. Statistics released in April show the church has more than 52,200 members currently serving on missions worldwide. 75% of missionaries are men between 19 and 21.  Single women over 21 and retired couples make up the remaining 25%.  Single men typically serve for two years, and women and couples serve for 18 months. The location of Archuleta’s mission has not been disclosed either by him or church officials. The church has more than 350 missions worldwide.

For Christmas, singer and soon to be JLo’s ex, Marc Anthony treated his 14-person staff to an all-expenses-paid vacation to the Dominican Republic!!!  Marc put the staff up at an exclusive resort for 5 days in La Romana and comped meals, drinks, and entertainment.  Anthony and his staff also paid a visit to the city’s Niños de Cristo orphanage to spend some time with less fortunate children.
