If you’ve sorta wondered what my education foundation is all about, let me try to sum it up like this: We help young people visualize how their education TODAY seriously impacts their TOMORROW.

Young people have a difficult time recognizing consequences, and when it comes to their attitude toward education, that can lead to a life that’s…well, that’s not as bright as it could be. We show young people that Smart Is Cool.

Madonna was on “Leno” last night, and she talked about the story behind her infamous performance of “Like a Virgin” at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards, where she rolled around the floor.  She said she lost one of her shoes, then tried to play it off like it was all planned. (more…)

Bob Marley is in town this weekend performing at Comedy Works, the Landmark Village location! You can see him this Friday and Saturday night, Jan. 27th and 28th, at 7:15 and 9:45.  Tickets cost $30.

Celebrating 15 years as a stand-up comic, Bob Marley is one of the hottest and most sought-after comedians in the country.  He has been featured in his own special on Comedy Central and is one of the few comics to do the complete late night TV circuit.

Marley uses biographical and observational material for his high-energy routines.  A regular at the Aspen and Montreal comedy festivals, Marley was named on of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch,” Marley has also appeared in several films, including the cult favorite, “Boondock Saints.”

Michael Jackson received another tribute yesterday… this time having his hand and footprints immortalized outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.  It is the first time a posthumous print ceremony has been held since the tradition began in 1920.  Justin Bieber, Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson, Jackson’s three children, plus Jackson’s brothers Tito, Marlon and Jackie were all there.  Prince, Paris and Blanket were the ones to make the impressions in the cement, using Jackson’s sequined glove and a pair of his shoes.  An awestruck 13 year old Paris introduced the dreamy Justin Bieber who said Michael was his inspiration and always looked up to him.  He then went on to sing “Rockin’ Robin.” (more…)

Word is that NBC is working on a spinoff for Dwight Schrute of “The Office.” The proposed spinoff is a family comedy that will have Dwight (Wilson) living at the Schrute family beet farm and bed & breakfast.  The B&B has been featured on the show several times, including in an episode where Jim and Pam visited Dwight there. Demi Moore has sought professional help after suffering from exhaustion and a need to improve her overall health.  Some news outlets say the actress has a substance abuse problem…regardless, she is currently receiving professional help at a treatment facility.  Moore and husband of six years Ashton Kutcher split up in Novemer 2011 amid rumors of Kutcher’s infidelity.  Twenty-two-year-old Sara Leal shared her account of an a night she allegedly spent with Kutcher in September.  Moore and Kutcher announced their divorce a little more than a month later. We were talking yesterday about Jim Carrey’s daughter getting through to Hollywood on “American Idol” Sunday night.  Now, we find out that she didn’t have to camp out for days waiting for her turn to sing, or even wait a few hours.  She basically had an appointment and showed up at the appropriate time.  It’s being reported that while she did get the VIP treatment, the judges didn’t know anything about it.  She gets a lot of air time complaining about how hard it is to grow up in the shadow of such a large personality and how it has hindered her finding out what her place in the world is. Jane has the full support of her dad, who is totally thrilled by his daughter’s appearance on the show saying, “I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has… Oh my god this is going to be an exciting year.” (more…)
