The L.A. County Coroner’s Office released the cause of Whitney Houston’s death yesterday. He said Whitney’s death was caused by drowning, and also the level of cocaine she had in her system that she’d apparently used in the bathtub at the hotel. “Accidental drowning” is listed as Whitney Houston’s official cause of death.  While investigator found no traces of cocaine in Whitney Houston’s suite the night she died, the Coroner’s Office says Whitney did indeed use cocaine “immediately prior to her collapse.” Coroner Chief Craig Harvey said the cocaine level in Whitney’s system was “acute” indicating she used the drug not long before she accidentally drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel. The autopsy also revealed a 60% narrowing of Whitney’s arteries, a direct result of her chronic cocaine habit. Harvey claims the artery constriction led to a cardiac event before her death. Marijuana, Xanax and Flexorall were also found
in her system, but were said not to play a part in her death.
