Jane Report 3-30-12

Lindsay Lohan has been deemed to have completed her probation requirements and is now a free woman. Judge Stephanie Sautner took Lindsay off probation altogether in what her honor called “the endless” 2007 DUI case. Lohan had good reason to work hard to complete her court appointed activities…If Lindsay had not completed the terms of her probation, Judge Sautner could have sentenced her to 270 days in jail. Now all Lindsay has to do is OBEY ALL LAWS for the next 2 1/2 years. “I know it’s kinda hard when people are following you all over the place” said the judge “but that’s the life you chose.” The judge also told the actress to “Stop nightclubbing and focus on your work.” Lindsay and her lawyer,
Shawn Holley, thanked the Judge and that was that…
Charlie Sheen talked about his meltdown on the “Today” show, and said that when he looked back at documentary footage she shot during his comedy tour, there were some spots where he almost didn’t recognize himself.
Here’s Charlie talking about what the drug-testing policy is on his new show, “Anger Management.”He says he won’t be tested unless something obvious happens . . . like he shows up covered in blood.
Oprah talked about calling Rosie O’Donnell to tell her that her show, “The Rosie Show,” was cancelled. She called Rosie a “class act,” and said she wants Rosie to do Broadway so she can be there front and center.
Oprah says she’s not going to be one of those people who claims she was friends with Whitney Houston . . . because she wasn’t. She said they had a relationship that people saw on TV, and she sent Whitney presents for her birthday sometimes. But they weren’t friends.
The big 3D re-release of “Titanic” is coming up on Wednesday, and it’s got Kate Winslet feeling . . . nauseous. At least when she hears the Celine Dion song “My Heart Will Go On.” Here’s what she said when she was asked what she feels like when she hears it.
Kate Winslet also says she can’t get on a boat without someone making a lame “Titanic” joke.
Stephen Colbert talked about the $540 million Mega Millions jackpot. (–Stephen joked that, to put it in perspective, if you laid 540 million bills end-to-end, you’d regret it because people would take it.)
TLC is adding a new reality show to their lineup of freaky obsessions,
addictions, coupons and child beauty queens…and it doesn’t appear to be scary
at all. “Craft Wars,” hosted by Torri Spelling, is a contest for three everyday
crafters who must battle each other in two rounds of challenges that tackle
different aspects of crafting. Tori, a life long crafter, actually has her own
line of craft products, the Tori Spelling Collection, and is publishing a party
planning book called “CelebraTORI” on April 3rd. The show will be judged by
Stephen Brown, founder of giftware company Glitterville Studios, Erica Domesek,
founder of P.S.-I made this and author of the book of the same name, and Jo
Pearson, creative expert for Michaels craft supply store.
The plot thickens…Kris Humphries has filed legal papers asking a judge to
release documentation disclosing how much the couple made during theri 72 day
marriage. He is also challenging Kim’s right to give away money that represents
what they made in wedding gifts. Kris’ lawyer wants the court to reinforce that
Kim has a duty to deal with him fairly and in good faith. According to

or dispose of community personal property for less than fair and reasonable
value, without the written consent of the other spouse.”

Zappa placed a $15,000 retainer with the lawyer but at $650 an hour, the costs
add up quickly.
County Music Hall of Famer, George Jones, 80, was hospitalized Thursday in
Nashville with an upper respiratory infection. While it was determined the
singer does not have pneumonia, he was kept over night for observation. Jones
is scheduled to hit the road again on April 20th, giving him plenty of time to
recuperate. Asked recently if he was thinking about retiring, the singer
responded, “I think if you ask anyone my age why they keep working, they’ll say,
‘If I retire, what am I going to retire to?’” he said. “What would I do with my
time?”
Spike Lee has reached a financial settlement with the Florida couple who were
forced to flee their home, after the film director retweeted their home address,
in connection with the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Elaine and David McClain, in
their 70s, have a son, William George Zimmerman, who is not related to the
George Zimmerman who shot Martin and whose arrest is being sought by Martin’s
family and civil rights supporters. The McClains wanted to resolve the issues
with Lee quickly to illustrate that whites and blacks could work together to
settle their differences without escalating racial tensions.
