Em and Dom are in the Halloween spirit! The Jane ReportWednesday, October 31st, 2012
Disney just bought Lucasfilm for over $4 billion dollars, and it seems the first thing they are going to do is put out three new “Star Wars” movies. Episode 7 will be released in 2015, the first under the Disney/Lucas banner, with Episode 8 and Episode 9 to follow. Disney plans to release a new Star Wars movie “every two to three years.” Disney also plans to add Star Wars brand in their parks, with games and other merchandise. Half the price will be paid in cash; the other half is in issuing of approximately 40 million shares based on the company’s October 26 stock price. Lucas said in a statement, “It’s now time for me to pass ‘Star Wars’ on to a new generation of filmmakers.” Lucas will be a “creative consultant” on all new “Star Wars” films. Review: 2013 Nissan MaximaTuesday, October 30th, 2012
I remember the first time I ever drove a Maxima. It was in the late 90s, and a friend of mine has just traded in her Mazda for the Nissan. I got behind the wheel, touched the gas…and felt my eyes open wide. Today, the Maxima has just as much oomph on the gas pedal, but has continued to maintain a somewhat-classy image, too. The 2013 version is another winner for Nissan. Here’s what I found after spending a week cruising around town… (more…) The Jane ReportTuesday, October 30th, 2012
David Letterman did his show last night without an audience because of Hurricane Sandy. At the beginning of the show, he explained why there wasn’t an audience. He said the audience would have been leaving the theater when the hurricane hit, and they didn’t want to put anyone in danger, even though they’ve been doing it for 30 years. It looks like Bobbi Kristina will get her inheritance just like her mother Whitney Houston wanted. Whitney’s mom and grandmother had contested the will and thought that Kristina would be getting big money, way too young. The case was dismissed after the parties came to an agreement. Apparently, the new deal is almost identical to the way Whitney had planned it. Bobbi Kristina will get 10% when she turns 21, around $2 million, then a little less than 20% when she turns 25, or around $4 million, and the rest, around $16 million, when she turns 30. Review: 2012 Toyota CamrySunday, October 28th, 2012
It was once again the number-one passenger car (based on sales) in America last year - a spot that it’s comfortably enjoyed almost every year since the late 90s - and yet, in a bold move, Toyota decided to redesign the Camry. Turns out it was a good call. After thirty years of satisfying performance and sales, the ‘12 version continues the tradition of comfort, power, and good looks, while applying a fresh coat of paint. This car is a champ, and I can’t see anyone knocking it off the pedestal anytime soon. Here’s what I found after a week behind the wheel… (more…) |
