Jimmy Kimmel commented on the first presidential debate of 2012.  He says it was sponsored by Mountain Dew Code Red, and they did a coin toss to decide who would speak first but before that they had to tell Mitt Romney what a coin was.

Nigel Lythgoe says that Mariah Carey and Nicki Manaj did exchange words on the set of “American Idol” the other day, but says in no way did Nicki make a death threat against Mariah. He blames Mariah’s people for giving her same bad advice.  Putting in his two cents worth regarding the blow up was Ryan Seacrest who says the tension between the two is good for the show adding that “[There's] nothing wrong with disagreeing … That’s gonna happen, and it’s okay.”

Nick Cannon spoke yesterday about the fight between his wife and Nicki Minaj during the “American Idol” auditions.  He says Mariah is the strongest and classiest woman he knows.  And the fight was just a distraction, and he hopes the show won’t be about their differences.

Ryan Seacrest talked on his radio show yesterday about the fight between Mariah and Nicki.  He didn’t get to see it, but he confirmed what was reported on Tuesday.  He said it was “intense,” and they had to stop production because of it.

In a new Australian interview, Nicole Kidman talks about her battle with depression . . . especially after her breakup with Tom Cruise.  She says, quote, “I got married really fast and really young.  But I don’t regret that because it got me (my children) Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period.  Then when it didn’t work out I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression.  I have no regrets about all of it.  It was all part of growing up.”  Bella and Connor were adopted, and that was another problem for Nicole.  She and Tom tried like crazy to have biological kids, and it didn’t happen.   She said, quote, “Not to be too detailed, but I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriages and I’ve had fertility treatments.  I’ve done all the stuff you can possibly do to try get pregnant.  Every woman who has been through all those ups and downs knows the depression that comes with it.”  Nicole now has two biological daughters with second husband Keith Urban.  She says, quote, “The percentages were so low.  It is the miracle in my life.”  Back to Tom Cruise for a moment . . . Nicole denied reports that she acted as Katie Holmes’ confidante when Katie left Tom earlier this year.  She said, quote, “I never spoke to her.  I wish all of them well, but I was not involved of any of that.”

album’s highlights is a new, original song titled “I Think You Might Like It,” the sequel to Travolta and Newton-John’s Grease hit, “You’re the One That I Want.” Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Chick Corea and Kenny G will also be featured on the album. “I wanted people to be able to play it around the house or in the car during the holiday, and make us part of your celebration,” says Travolta. “This Christmas” is available Nov. 13th.

It looks like New Zealand and Australia may be saying no thank you to boxer, Mike Tyson. New Zealand has canceled Tyson’s visa because of his 1992 rape conviction, just days after Prime Minister John Key spoke out against Tyson’s visit to the country. The decision was partly influenced by a charity that would have benefited from Tyson’s appearance wanting nothing to do with him. In 1992, Tyson was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of raping an 18-year-old woman in a hotel room. He served three years before being granted parole. It is the policy of both New Zealand and Australia to grant visas to visitors who have passed a character test. Those seeking visas who have a “substantial criminal record” are generally not admitted.

The car was towed around 8pm and stowed away at a nearby impound lot. (yeah, it’s been picked up)
