The Jane Report

Forbes has released its annual list of the Most Overpaid Actors in Hollywood and this year’s winner (slash) loser is Eddie Murphy.

He’s followed by Katherine Heigl, who wasn’t on the list last year.  To come up with the list, Forbes takes everybody’s last three movies, and calculates how much those movies made for every dollar the star was paid.  Eddie’s last three movies were “A Thousand Words”, “Tower Heist” and “Imagine That”.  And those films only made $2.30 for every dollar he was paid. Unfortunately for Eddie, Forbes doesn’t count animated movies, because then “Shrek Forever After” would have been in there instead of “Imagine That” and he probably wouldn’t even have made the list.

Here are Hollywood’s Most Overpaid Actors, along with how much their last three movies made for every dollar in salary they earned . . .

#1.)  Eddie Murphy,  $2.30

#2.)  Katherine Heigl,  $3.40

#3.)  Reese Witherspoon,  $3.90

#4.)  Sandra Bullock,  $5.00 (She was dragged down by the 2009 bomb “All About Steve”.  The other two movies they counted were “The Blind Side” and “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”.)

#5.)  Jack Black,  $5.20 (Like Eddie Murphy, he’s hurt by Forbes’ ban on animated flicks.  ”Kung Fu Panda 2″ doesn’t count for him.  Instead, he’s weighed down by “Big Year”, “Gulliver’s Travels” and the limited release “Bernie”.)

#6.)  Nicolas Cage,  $6.00  (He was also #6 last year.)

#7.)  (tie)  Adam Sandler and Denzel Washington,  $6.30  (Denzel was fifth last year, while Adam was tied with Vince Vaughn for seventh.)

#9.)  Ben Stiller,  $6.50  (Not on the list last year.)

#10.)  Sarah Jessica Parker,  $7.00  (Not on the list last year.)

The next time you see Angelina Jolie in a movie, make the most of it . . . because it might be her last one.  She said in a recent interview that she was thinking of retiring from acting by the time her kids get to be teenagers.  Actually she said she might do a movie here and there.  But she could also be happy just staying home with the kids.  Her oldest son Maddox is already 11 . . . so the end is less than two years away.

Mariah Carey stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s show last night.  And backstage before the show they got her to sing “All I Want for Christmas Is You” . . . backed up by The Roots, playing classroom instruments.

Dr. Phil has been reunited with his stolen ‘57 Chevy that was taken from a repair shop earlier this year.  Someone broke into the building and made off with the vehicle when the TV host was having the transmission serviced months ago.  Officers believe the same people have been pulling the same stunt at vehicle repair shops all over town … jacking multiple classic rides in the process. Sources say at least 14 different classic cars have been recovered during the investigation.

Barbara Walters made Honey Boo Boo one of her most fascinating people of 2012.  She gave her reasons yesterday on “The View”.  She says the family is a loving family, and they’re sweet and funny.  Elisabeth Hasselbeck said it was one thing to criticize the show, but people shouldn’t be criticizing Honey Boo Boo herself.

Whenever Matt Damon is on “Letterman,” David Letterman always has him do his pretty good Matthew McConaughey impression.  Last night, Matt did it again when he was talking about McConaughey’s performance in “Magic Mike.”  Matt joked that McConaughey was going to get an Oscar, and then in the voice said, “Well I figured if I was gonna get nominated for an Oscar, I’d just take my shirt off.”

Anderson Cooper was on his show yesterday talking about what has to be one of the weirdest injuries you can get while you’re on vacation in Portugal.  He was out on a  boat for two hours, and his eyeballs got sunburned.  He went blind for 36 hours.  The crazy thing was that his co-host Christie Brinkley said it had also happened to her once, at a celebrity ski event.

Aretha Franklin entered the White House for an event connected with the Kennedy Center Honors, on Monday and suffered a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. The upper half of her pink gown with its white beaded bodice came unhooked and partially slid down to her waist, exposing the girls. Franklin was quickly escorted to a tented area where she got help getting fixed.

Conan O’Brien joked last night about the reports coming out that Mitt Romney has been bored since the election.  His wife Ann said it’s worse for her she has to sit around all day with Mitt Romney.

Seinfeld alum, Michael Richards is set to co-star opposite Cheers‘ Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman in a TV Land pilot called, “Giant Baby”. Also joining the pilot is Gilles Marini who will guest star. Richards will play Maddie’s limo driver. Marini will play her chef. Perlman plays Maddie’s long-suffering assistant and best friend.

Former “Home Improvement” star, Taran Noah Smith, has just been convicted of DUI and hash possession following his arrest earlier this year. Smith was stopped in L.A. back in February when cops saw him behind the wheel of a Honda Accord, which was parked in front of a fire hydrant. When they approached the vehicle, cops say they detected the smell of cannabis, and placed Smith under arrest. Smith was charged with DUI and possession of hash and pled “no contest” to the DUI charge. Smith was sentenced to a 12-hour program for the DUI offense, and a 6-month drug diversion program for the weed charge He was also placed on three years probation. He’s due back in court in June.

Frankie Muniz, best known for his role in “Malcolm in the Middle,” was hospitalized recently for suffering a mini-stroke. The 26-year-old was taken to an emergency room in Arizona several days ago, but doctors haven’t been able to figure out what caused it.  His friends brought him to the hospital after Frankie began “acting weird” and had trouble talk and understanding what people were saying to him. Doctors orders are to “take it easy,” which could potentially prevent Muniz from going on tour with his band, Kingsfoil, starting Friday.

Lindsay Lohan says it’s not her fault that the IRS has seized all her bank accounts. She says she didn’t know anything about it, she’s broke and it’s not her fault.  Lohan’s managers are said to be on track to resolve her tax debts by the end of the year.
