Barbra Streisand will perform at the 85th annual Academy Awards on February 24th. It will be Streisand’s second performance ever at the Oscars and the first in 36 years, since singing “A Star Is Born” in 1977. She won an original song Oscar for “Evergreen” that night. This year’s ceremony will also include a special celebration of movie musicals from the past 10 years, including “Chicago,” “Dreamgirls” and “Les Miserables.” There will also be a tribute to the 50th year of the James Bond franchise, which launched with “Dr. No” in 1962. “30 Rock” may be coming to an end on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean Alec Baldwin won’t have anything to do. Reports say that he’s expecting a baby with wife Hilaria Thomas. The couple married last June.  Baldwin has a 17-year-old daughter, Ireland, with ex-wife Kim Basinger. There’s no confirmation of how far along Thomas’ pregnancy is but the couple attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, and Thomas, a professional yoga instructor, showed little evidence of a baby bump.   (more…)

Barbara Walters is having a rough time these days.  Last week she went to the hospital after falling down some stairs at a party.  Now she’s back there with chicken pox, of all things.  They talked about it on “The View” yesterday.  She’s 83 now, but she’s never had it before.  They say it’s extremely rare to find someone who gets it after the age of 60.

For Dom’s 20th anniversary, we surprised him with his favorite: Maggiano’s! HHHHeeeeeyyyy… They brought their famous, delicious, fantastic, mouth-watering meatballs, of which Dom had a dozen. Another incredible dish we devoured was the Rigatoni D, with lots of wonderful creamy sauce. This week we inspect one of your favorite hobbies. Yes, I know that you might really like your glass of wine (or two)  in the evening, but it could very well be wrecking your sleep. There’s some interesting new research that I would strongly recommend you check out.

We also find out that there’s a lot of money to be made . . . in space. On asteroids, to be exact. Gold, platinum, silicon, water. Yes, water, which could turn out to be the most valuable product of all. I’ve got an interesting video about all of this that you can enjoy.

And wait until you see the full-size train car that a Canadian guy built in his basement. It’s exactly what most of us would do if we had some extra time and money to spend. I’ve got the video, which will at least make you shake your head. Or give you ideas.

Matt Damon finally got his revenge on Jimmy Kimmel last night. Jimmy’s been telling the same joke for years at the end of his shows. He always says he has to bump Matt Damon because they ran out of time. So last night Matt hijacked the whole show for himself, and brought on his own band and his own guests. Of course it was a stunt to promote Jimmy’s show in its new time slot. It probably worked. Matt brought on the best guests the show ever had . . . Robin Williams, Sheryl Crow, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Demi Moore and a few others. Matt Damon also fired Jimmy’s sidekick Guillermo . . . and brought out Andy Garcia. Andy mimicked Guillermo’s goofy accent, and whipped out a taser. (more…)

Josh Duhmel, star of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, has been named host of Nickelodeon’s 26th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards. The show will be broadcast from the Galen Center in Los Angeles on March 23rd. Duhamel himself has been inducted into Nickelodeon’s Arm Fart Hall of Fame and showered in green goo. Last year’s awards, hosted by Will Smith, attracted 6.2 million viewers. (more…)
