This week you get not only great stories for your inner nerd, but also some hilarious video.

For one thing, I have an interesting piece on newborn babies. Turns out that they’re learning an awful lot while they’re still in the womb. How do we know? Because they come out already recognizing their native language. Pretty cool.

I also have a story about how fructose is making you fat because of its effect on your brain. This story will get you to pay closer attention to food labels, that’s for sure.

Oh, and one other story with fun video to go along with it. Jane can’t seem to get enough of robot stories in News For Nerds, so I try to include at least one whenever I can. This week you get information - and a rather explicit video - of Vomiting Larry, the robot that might help us learn how to prevent the spread of a wicked virus. (Larry shows up about at about the 2:40 point in the video.)
