There is a raging war among 3 Las Vegas properties to snag Britney Spears as their headliner. TMZ has learned. TMZ broke the story last week Britney was in serious negotiations with one of the Caesars properties to perform several nights a week on a regular basis, as well as make regular appearances at several clubs and pool events. Well, we just found out since we posted our story two other properties — at least one not associated with Caesars — have thrown their hat in the ring. There’s a story out that Britney has already inked a $200 million, 2-year deal with Caesars. WRONG. No deal has been signed. But as we reported …. sources connected with the negotiations tell us. Britney could get $100 mil a year and maybe more. That’s what Celine Dion made, and Britney could be an even bigger draw.
The truth has come out and women of America are making one huge sigh of relief. Kelly Ripa gets botox. I mean, no one looks that good in the morning..so fresh and perky. Ripa admits to also getting botox in her armpits to help her avoid sweating. How often does she get injections? “Every seven months or so, my eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes. So I feel like it makes my makeup artist’s life easier, and it makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now.”
Elton John and his partner of 20 years, David Furnish, have welcomed a second baby into their family. Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John was born via surrogate on Friday, January 11th in Los Angeles. Baby Elijah joins his big brother, two-year-old Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. Furnish and John began dating in 1993 and married in 2005.
Speaking of babies, former American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi, is going to be a mom. She and husband Mike McCuddy are pregnant with a son via surrogate. The baby’s name is already selected and will be known as Greyson James Carroll McCuddy. Kara, who has always wanted a child, left American Idol so she could concentrate on getting pregnant. She underwent three unsuccessful rounds of IVF during her last season on the show. She says she wanted to be a mother more than a household name.
American Idol season five winner Taylor Hicks is taking up residence at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas beginning January 21st. (He’s the first Idol alumni to secure long term residency on the Vegas strip) Announced dates at the Paris run through November 23rd. Hicks will also appear at other Caesars properties across the country all year.
Charlie Sheen did an interview with Dr. Oz yesterday. And he has ANOTHER new explanation for what caused his public meltdown in 2011. Spoiler alert: it’s still not drugs. He says he was taking testosterone under medical supervision, and it gave him roid rage.
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian were guests on “Letterman” last night, and Kim talked about how she’s technically still married to Kris Humphries. She said she’s been trying to end the marriage for two years, and she wants both of them to be happy and “move on.”
Conan O’Brien talked about Subway getting backlash from customers because their footlongs are only actually 11 inches long. Conan joked that he knows exactly what Subway is going through.
The woman who garnered so much attention from Brent Musburger during the BCS championship game has landed on her soft cat paws. Former Miss Alabama USA Katherine Webb will serve as a correspondent for “Inside Edition” leading up to next month’s Super Bowl in New Orleans. Webb, the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, calls the temporary job “an honor and a dream come true.” Webb starts work on January 28th
Speaking of, Brent Musburger finally went on record about the whole Katherine Webb controversy, from last week’s BCS Championship Game. And guess what? He’s not sorry for anything. Yesterday Musburger said ESPN obviously felt they had to apologize, but that’s just something corporations do. He thinks he’ll run into Katherine someday and they’ll laugh it off.
Anderson Cooper mentioned on his show yesterday that he’s actually been on a few dates with girls. But he didn’t know it at the time. The girls told him later that they thought they were on dates with him. But he thought they were just friends, and he was trying to meet their brothers the whole time.
Jay Leno talked last night about Lindsay Lohan avoiding jail time again. He said the judge told her that if it happens a hundred more times, Lindsay might have to spend two days in jail.
NBC will be celebrating the 2nd annual Betty White’s 90th Birthday Special. The first 90th birthday special was such a hit, the network decided to make it an annual event. The show will air on Tuesday, February 5th and will feature guests Blake Shelton, Bill Cosby, Whoopi Goldberg, Sean Hayes, Lily Tomlin, President Bill Clinton, Larry King, as well as Vicki Lawrence, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
Bravo has green lighted a new show about parenting. It’s a look at parents who practice unique styles of raising their children. Each week “The Extreme Guide To Parenting” will give a candid inside look at two separate households with different forms of parenting. Some techniques include women who breastfeed their children until age 4 or older; parents who are so protective they use disguises to monitor their child’s every move; and competitive, parents who enroll their children in Mandarin Chinese language courses before they can spell.
Actor Conrad Bain who played the dad, Phillip Drummond, on “Diff’rent Strokes” passed away Monday from natural causes at the age of 89. Bain became a household name in the 80’s when he starred opposite Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges on the series. Conrad is survived by 3 sons, a daughter and a twin brother, Bonar Bain. He would have turned 90 on February 4th.
Former SNL character, Will Ferrell, is thinking about joining the late night talk show world, but with an added twist. The talk show he and his production company are developing differs in that it will be more of a morning show, in late night. The untitled project would be modeled after the likes of Live With Kelly and Michael and the fourth hour of Today hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. The show would air on the USA network.
