The Jane Report

There is very little Hollywood news today because every celebrity on earth was in Washington D.C. for the inaugural festivities…

The inaugural festivities went pretty much all day yesterday and some of the showbiz highlights were Beyonce singing the national anthem.

Sheryl Crow dated Lance Armstrong from 2003 to 2006.  They were even engaged before they broke up.  Have you ever wondered whether Sheryl knew what was propelling Lance to all those Tour de France wins?  Well, there are new reports that Sheryl DID know Lance was doping.  That’s according to one of Lance’s former teammates. Both of them mentioned Sheryl in affidavits they submitted to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. In those documents they claim that some years back, Lance called Frankie to his hotel room to ask him for a favor.  He wanted his wife to sign a statement retracting her earlier claim that Lance had admitted to a doctor that he was doping.  And they both say that Sheryl was IN THE ROOM when the conversation went down.  Lance didn’t mention Sheryl during his interview with Oprah Winfrey last week

Sheryl Crow finally decided to talk about Lance Armstrong’s doping confession.  And she pretty much said a whole lot of nothing on it.  She tossed off a big string of cliches that basically came down to it’s cool to tell the truth.

The Manly Library in Sydney, Australia, is moving all of its books about Lance Armstrong to where they belong …in the fiction section. “All nonfiction Lance Armstrong titles, including ‘Lance Armstrong: Images Of A Champion,’ ‘The Lance Armstrong Performance Program’ and ‘Lance Armstrong: World’s Greatest Champion,’ will soon be moved to the fiction section,” a sign announced over the weekend. For years he lied about taking the drugs but has since been stripped of all his titles for cheating and banned from the sport.  It will be interesting to see if other libraries follow suit.

Taylor Swift has allegedly dated 13 guys over the past four years and some of them have been immortalized in song.  Unfortunately, what seemed to be charming at first, is becoming a source of jokes and Taylor is getting really tired of it.  ”She laughed it off, but the jokes made about her at the Golden Globes got under her skin” says RadarOnline. (Tina Fey had told her to keep her hands off of Mr. Golden Globe, Sam Fox, son of Michael J. Fox.) According to RadarOnline’s source, the negative attention may end up having a positive outcome. “She really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend,” said the pal.

Dick Clark will be honored by one of his most bitter rivals, music’s Grammy Awards. Clark, who died of a heart attack last year in April, will receive a special tribute during next month’s Grammy telecast. Clark, creator of “The American Music Awards,” had a long standing rivalry with the Grammys. In 2001, he filed a $10 million lawsuit against the academy, claiming producers “blacklisted” performers who appeared on his show, which he invented in 1973 for ABC when the Grammys jumped to another network. Clark’s widow, Kari, has accepted an invitation to attend the ceremony, which will be broadcast Feb. 10th on CBS.
