Sofia Vergara from “Modern Family” was part of an intro to the SAG Awards last night where actors talked about joining the Screen Actors Guild. She talked about her upbringing in Columbia, and also made a joke about her chest. She said her father told her if she was going to do something artistic, she’d “look like a hooker,” but she told him with her large cans she already looked like “a hooker.”
There was a reported brawl between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean Sunday night and Chris’s people say that Ocean started it. Chris was at Westlake Studio in the L.A. area listening one of of the artists he represents. Sources say as Chris went to leave, Frank Ocean and his crew blocked Chris from leaving. Frank reportedly said, “This is my studio, this is my parking spot.” Word is that Chris went to shake Frank’s hand and that’s when one of Frank’s people attacked Chris. It wasn’t but a second til one of Chris’ friends jumped in front and hit Frank’s friend. Then, its said that Chris and Frank got into a full blown brawl.
LL Cool J was on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” last night. He told her a good story about how he came up with the song “Mama Said Knock You Out”. Apparently he owes it all to his grandmother. He was discouraged after his third album, because the critics gave it bad reviews. He told his grandmother he was thinking of giving up, and she told him just to go “knock ‘em out.” So he went in the studio and wrote that song.
Jef Holm, the former winner of “The Bachelorette,” is single again. The 26 year old won the heart of Emily Maynard only to have the relationship end some six months later, has broken up with his rebound girl, Katianna Bear. The two started dating in October of last year and said their relationship had run its course. Don’t feel sorry for Jef, however, he was last seen at Sundance hanging out in the clubs, visiting gifting suites and dripping in women.
Liberty Ross has officially filed for divorce from director, Rupert Sanders who was caught having an affair with actress, Kristen Stewart. The couple had until recently been working on repairing their marriage. Ross has hired high-profile celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, best known for representing Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, and Angelina Jolie in their divorces.
Burt Reynolds was hospitalized last week with a bad case of the flu. The symptoms were so severe that he actually ended up in intensive care. But I’m happy to report that Burt will NOT DIE. By Saturday, his condition had improved so much that he was moved from ICU to a regular hospital room. Burt is 76 years old.
British singer Morrissey has been hospitalized in Royal Oak, Michigan. The singer checked in to the William Beaumont hospital “where he is undergoing tests for a suspected bladder infection.” Concert dates over the weekend were postponed. The canceled Flint concert had already been postponed once before, from October when Morrissey rescheduled a tour to spend time with his ailing mother.
James Denton has moved to Chanhassen, Minnesota. Denton played the handsome plumber Mike Delfino on “Desperate Housewives” for several seasons. The actor, his wife Erin O’Brien, a Minnesota native and his two kids wanted to be closer to her sister who is battling cancer. “Our kids get to grow up with their cousins and grandparents,” Denton said about the benefits of moving to Minnesota. “And we got them out of L.A., so it’s all good.” He is now raising money for the Angel Foundation, for victims of cancer. Asked if he’s in touch with any of his former cast mates, Denton says he got a text from Teri Hatcher who is attending Le Cordon Bleu culinary school full time learning to be a chef.
Jimmy Kimmel got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame over the weekend. His star is located outside the historic El Capitan Theater which is where “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is recorded.
Diet Coke has signed Taylor Swift as their most recent spokesperson. Taylor is doing ok…she made over $35 million last year and this new deal comes after her lucrative contract with Cover Girl, as well as work for Sony Electronics and Keds. In October Taylor told Bon Appetit magazine Diet Coke is always in her refrigerator, “because it understands me.”
Dr. Phil has scored the first on-camera interview with the alleged mastermind behind the Manti Te’o girlfriend hoax … Ronaiah Tuiasosopo. The two discussed Manti Teo’s interview with Katie Couric after watching it together. Ronaiah is said to have had intense feelings for Manti — feelings he channeled through the female persona of “Lennay Kekua” … Manti’s faked girlfriend. The emotional conversation is expected to air sometime this week.
Hugh Hefner’s beloved secretary of over 40 years and the mansion’s housemother, Mary O’Connor, has died. The Girls Next Door stars Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett and Bridget Marquardt all took to Twitter to give their condolences, along with Hef’s new wife, Crystal Harris. Mary was often seen on the shows Girls Next Door and Kendra.
O.J. Simpson is behind bars, but that doesn’t mean that Uncle Sam is going to let him get away with not paying his taxes. The IRS has slapped the acquitted killer of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman with his third tax lien in a year. According to the paperwork filed in December, OJ owes $17,015.99 for 2011, $179,435.07 for the years 2007-2010 and the State of California says he still owes $318,566.04 for the year 2000. Tax debt total = $515,017.10. (That gets paid before the families of his victims who are owed millions)
