Barbra Streisand will perform at the 85th annual Academy Awards on February 24th. It will be Streisand’s second performance ever at the Oscars and the first in 36 years, since singing “A Star Is Born” in 1977. She won an original song Oscar for “Evergreen” that night. This year’s ceremony will also include a special celebration of movie musicals from the past 10 years, including “Chicago,” “Dreamgirls” and “Les Miserables.” There will also be a tribute to the 50th year of the James Bond franchise, which launched with “Dr. No” in 1962.
Rihanna is back with Chris Brown and she says it’s nobodys business but her own. She doesn’t want anyone to save her or tell her what to do because she knows what she’s getting herself into. ”Crazy In Love” is the title of her interview in the upcoming Rolling Stone magazine. She says, “I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake.” She says she can handle the backlash.
Charlie Sheen was on “The Tonight Show” last night, and Jay asked him about Lance Armstrong. Charlie actually met him one time, and they didn’t hit it off. Charlie said Lance is, quote, “kind of a douche.” He said he once introduced himself to Lance, and Lance just said, “That’s nice.”
Ellen asked her fans on Facebook to give her some suggestions for her wife’s birthday gift. Yesterday she read a few of the better ones on her show. One fan said Ellen should serve breakfast in bed, wearing nothing but an apron. Ellen said that’s how she lost her job at IHOP.
Legendary porn actor Ron Jeremy was admitted to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, after experiencing severe pain in his chest. Doctors determined he had suffered a heart aneurysm. The actor’s condition has worsened and he has been transferred to the intensive care unit. Jeremy, 59, holds the record for most appearances in adult films, according to Guinness Book of World Records, with over 2,000 movies.
A reporter from Channel 6 in Orlando named Jessica Sanchez was on Bourbon Street in New Orleans for a Super Bowl countdown segment. And in the middle of it, some drunk woman got behind her and started yelling. And instead of trying to ignore it, Jessica asked the woman if she wanted to do an interview . . . then embarrassed her. When the woman said yes, Jessica explained that it was a segment on STD rates and asked, quote, “So, how long have you had an STD?”
Jimmy Fallon had a great joke about President Obama’s Telemundo interview last night. Obama went on Telemundo to talk about his immigration plan. Jimmy said Obama told them a new immigration plan was his primary GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLL!
CBS has picked up “How I Met Your Mother” for its ninth and final season. All five members of the core cast — Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris — will return, and CBS will have a full season’s worth of episodes. The network also promises that fans will meet Ted’s future wife in Season 9, finally fulfilling the show’s title.
Roseanne Barr will guest star on an upcoming episode of “The Office”. She be playing a talent agent named Carla Fern. It seems that Andy comes back from his boat trip and revives his dream of being a star.
It was a big day for Lindsay Lohan yesterday. Not only was she in court for her probation violation hearing and got to stay out of jail, at least for now, but she got a new member of the family. Michael Lohan and his fiancee Kate Major welcomed the birth of a baby boy in Florida. The baby was named Landon Major Lohan.
Christoph Waltz will host “SNL”. The Oscar-nominated “Django Unchained” star will host February 16th with musical guest Alabama Shakes.
ABC has ordered eight episodes of a new primetime game show called, “Bet On Your Baby”. The program will have groups of parents predicting their toddler’s next move to earn $50,000 in prize money for their college fund.
“Merlin” alumna Katie McGrath and “Game of Thrones” Nonso Anozie have been cast as series regulars in NBC’s 10-episode drama about Dracula. McGrath will play Lucy Westenra, a sexy, social butterfly and best friend to Dracula’s muse, Mina Murray. Anozie plays the role of R.M. Renfield, the fiercely loyal confidante of Dracula’s alter ego, Alan Grayson. Renfield is the keeper of Dracula’s deepest and darkest secrets. NBC has yet to set a premiere date for Dracula.
A group of 26 students from the Sandy Hook school in Newtown will perform”America the Beautiful” during the Super Bowl XLVII pregame show. The league is flying the students and their families down to New Orleans later this week. The performance will be broadcast live on CBS shortly before Alicia Keys performs the National Anthem.
Jim Nabors, well known for starring in the 1960s television sitcom “Gomer Pyle, USMC,” married his longtime partner earlier this month. Nabors, now 82, said he married his companion of 38 years, Stan Cadwallader, who’s 64, in Seattle on January 15th. A judge performed the marriage ceremony in the privacy of their hotel room with a couple of friends as witnesses. Nabors met Cadwallader in 1975 when Cadwallader was a Honolulu fire fighter. He eventually went to work for Nabors and they began a relationship. Nabors says he was open about his homosexuality to co-workers and friends but never acknowledged it to the media until now.
Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the man who made football star Manti Te’o think he had a girlfriend, was on Dr. Phil and says he thinks he might be gay after he fell in love with Manti. Tuiasosopo said he was always afraid to explore his sexuality fearing scorn and ridicule from the Samoan community, his church community and the football community. He says that’s why he created a fantasy world where he could become a female character named Lennay…so he could interact with men. Word is that Ronaiah is seeing a real therapist and that he’s dealing with some issues he’s been avoiding all his life.
Country singer Emmylou Harris has been charged with hit-and-run. She allegedly ran her rental car into another vehicle on the 405 freeway and just took off. The other driver filed a report, claiming the 65-year-old slammed into their car on October 1st around 10pm. Emmylou’s PR person called the fender bender a “garden-variety accident that happens every day on the 405,” claiming Emmylou only left the scene because she didn’t realize she struck another car. If convicted on the hit-and-run charge, Emmylou faces up to 6 months in jail.
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville has an astonishingly disgusting book coming out called, “Drinking & Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders”. Glanville got famous when her husband, Eddie Cibrian left her for singer, LeAnn Rimes and she’s using this book as kind of a battering ram against the two of them. She goes into way too much detail about having sex with her husband after he started seeing LeAnn, and calls her flat chested. Glanville claims Cibrian promised her when they split he would never marry Rimes, which he did just months after their divorce was finalized. To get him back, she gave Eddie’s credit card number to the plastic surgeon for a $12,000 vaginal rejuvenation surgery. “A brand-new vagina would be an Eddie-free vagina,” Brandi writes. “I decided that since Eddie had ruined my vagina for me, he could pay for a new one.” The book will be in stores February 12th.
Pop singer, Ke$ha is set to star in an all-access music documentary series called Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life for MTV. The series, which will debut inApril, will capture Ke$ha during her most intimate and wildest moments while recording a new album and traveling the world.
