The Jane Report

May 11th, 2012 by Jane

Everyone’s been talking about how come Kanye West attended Monday night’s Met Costume Institute Gala, sans his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. Could there be trouble in the romance already? Not so, says a report. Instead the story is that Anna Wintour, host of the event and responsible for hand picking every celebrity at the event, banned Kim from the event. According to Radaronline, the Vogue editor-in-chief, specifically made it an issue to not let Kim be
there. Kardashian had tweeted just hours before the ball, “So excited to see all the fashion going on in New York tonight at the MET!” That comment led many to believe Kim was going to the party where the ticket is $25,000 each, but it is understood that she wasn’t even allowed to buy ticket. smell

Why is our sense of smell so closely tied to our memories? You can sniff a can of Playdough and instantly remember the scene in your kindergarten class. This week on News For Nerds we find out that it has to do with a particular neighborhood inside your head.

Are you a go-getter, while the person at the desk next to you is a bit lazy? Turns out that a chemical reaction in your brain is all that separates the two of you.

Plus, for the first time we actually see the light from a planet kinda similar to Earth, and the story of a big, big, big crocodile that used to eat humans in one gulp. Yikes!

These stories (with more information, links, and even video) are always at your fingertips right here. On the Dom and Jane Show we specialize in getting our nerd on.

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch died Friday after a long battle with throat cancer. Yauch, who also went by MCA (and Nathanial Hornblower) was an integral part of the band from their very beginnings. The band’s outstanding thirty year career earned them a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last month. Yauch was too ill at the time to attend the ceremony.
