The Jane Report

TVLine is saying that Steve Carell WILL appear on the series finale of “The Office” on May 16th.  The site says it will be a brief cameo not a full-on guest-starring role.  But this is still not OFFICIAL.  Just last week, an “Office” executive producer reiterated that both Steve and the show didn’t want a return to “overshadow” his character’s original departure, and Steve’s rep has said he’s NOT in the finale. The Jane Report

Mama June and Sugar Bear from “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” got married yesterday in McIntyre, Georgia.  June wore a camouflage wedding dress.  The wedding was taped, so we can expect to see it sometime soon on TLC.  June and Sugar Bear met in an online chat room nine years ago.  The result, of course, was Honey Boo Boo.  As TMZ first reported, Mama aka June Shannon and Sugar Bear aka Mike Thompson decided to tie the knot in Georgia. Our sources had said that the people working the wedding were told to dress in either hot pink or camo clothing … but we didn’t think that extended to the participants as well! The Jane Report

Dr. Drew said in an interview yesterday that he’s not doing any more seasons of “Celebrity Rehab”. He’s tired of being blamed when people DIE after they’re on the show. So far five people have died. Actor Jeff Conaway, Rodney King, “Real World” star Joey Kovar, Mike Starr from Alice in Chains, and Mindy McCready. Read the rest of this entry »

The Jane Report

It was quite the fairy tale for Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and “dem babies” Tuesday night.  The happy family celebrated Carey and Cannon’s fifth wedding anniversary, as well as their twins’ 2nd birthday, at the “Happiest Place on Earth.”  The couple played out their happily ever after by renewing their vows right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland in California.  The whole clan dressed the part as Carey uploaded photos and videos of herself decked out as a fairy princess, Cannon as Prince Charming and the twins rocking costumes identical to Mom and Dad.   Read the rest of this entry »

The Jane Report

This sounds like a winner to me:  John Stamos is going to host a web show in which he reunites celebrities with the people who took their virginity.  He says, quote, “For every actor, celebrity, musician and politician out there that we see, there’s somebody at home going, ‘I was their first.’  I want to hear their stories, too.”  He may even reenact those magic moments with puppets, Barbie dolls or some other kind of animation.  And by the way . . . John says he was reunited with HIS first about 13 years ago, and he didn’t even recognize her. Read the rest of this entry »

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

–reviewed by Jane

I must be honest, I read this classic MANY years ago.  In fact, I was probably a teenager, back in the dark ages and I didn’t particularly care for it.  In the interest of maturity and because another version of the movie is coming out soon starring Leo DiCaprio, I decided to give it another try. The red 1965 Chevy convertible that John Travolta drives in “Pulp Fiction” was stolen from director Quentin Tarantino 17 years ago.  And last week, cops finally found it.  Police arrested a suspected auto thief on Tuesday in an unrelated case.  But somehow, during their investigation of this guy, they came across the Chevy somewhere in the Oakland area.  The Vehicle Identification Number had been changed, but it was definitely the car.  It’s not clear if cops know who stole the Chevy, but nobody’s getting charged over it, because the statute of limitations on auto theft ran out years ago.  But Quentin still gets the car back.
